Growing Veggies for Fat Meir
ruthie sobel luttenberg

In a school in Israel, children noticed that sandwiches were hanging on the school door every day at lunchtime. They learned that a retiree named "Fat" Meir Shoeff is providing food for students who cannot afford eating at school.

The first graders wanted to help.

After the children visited "Fat" Meir Shoeff's soup kitchen and learned about the hunger problem at school, they decided to help : they planted vegetables on a farm nearby, which they donated to Fat Meir's NGO.

"These children know that they can make a difference." Daniel Florantin — farmer
