The association "Le Sens de l'École" has been created in order to reconnect children to school with little workshops run by professionnals. Their goal is to reduce dropout and to provoke motivation of pupils to learn.
The statistics from the latest studies (PISA, etc.) reveal a gradual detachment of children from the school system. One in four children is bored at school and 62% doesn't feel like they belong to school. In an attempt to reconnect children with school, the NGO Le Sens de l'École intervenes in classes and offers various workshops to help children in difficulty to open up and find meaning in their schooling. Their goal is to do everything to reduce school dropouts.
Here is an excerpt from the workshop "The reason for my schooling" in the school Pierre de Coubertin in Villeneuve-la-Garenne, France. The children choose a photo that inspires them and they must, looking at it, ask themselves the question of what good they can bring to the world.
